What will make a child have most success? It it determined by the child-rearing techniques? These questions are very important questions that could help not only our own children, but also society. The main argument is stated by Levitt & Dunner and that is it doesn't matter what you do, but who you are. So does that mean that your personality traits matter or how you live your very own life? Or is it the question of if you are married to someone intelligent and successful is the child more likely to succeed? Also, in this book that the article is explaining, it makes a c0mment about if parenting books even work? I like that because i agree with Pamies that by the time a parent picks up a parenting book to read it's too late. Genetically, parents have a huge affect on children. They serve a huge role in nurturing them. Although parents are a huge part in a child's life, peers, and cultural influences do also so parenting is not just the only factor.
